Okinawa is the birthplace of Karate and Uechi-Ryu is one of the three main Okinawan karate styles. Classes are taught by Sensei James G. Foley, Kyoshi-Nanadan (7th Degree) who has been studying Uechi-Ryu for over 36 years and has trained hundreds of students during his 30 years of teaching in the St. Louis area. Sensei Foley has trained with the foremost Okinawan Masters including Uechi Kanei Sensei, son of the Grandmaster of the style. Classes are taught in traditional Okinawan style and are intended to encourage the mental, physical, and spiritual development of the individual.
